Living Room
Developed in collaboration with MHNDU as a proposal for the Canvas Factory Competition, the multi-residential housing project prioritises shared collective experience over private isolation, placing a vibrant outdoor living room at the heart of the site.
The courtyard as core
Flanked by two distinct residential volumes, the design introduces a central communal courtyard that acts as the physical and social heart of the development. This shared living room belongs equally to all residents, engaging each of the seven apartments simultaneously to form a dynamic interface between the private domains and the collective centre.
A collective domestic life
The project challenges the conventions of modern multi-residential housing, arguing that the quality of what is shared is as vital as the quality of what is one's own. In doing so, it fosters a culture of conviviality and everyday human connection, allowing residents to inhabit the outdoor living room not as an amenity, but as a genuine extension of their own domestic life.
