Located in the less familiar precinct of Bondi rather than along its well-known beachfront, the project responds to an emerging streetscape undergoing rapid urban change. By amalgamating two sites, the three-storey apartment building accommodates a mix of affordable and market-rate units within a single urban framework.
A distinct identity
The façade reinterprets the classical arch as a deep, oversized element. Set in concrete, the double-height arches introduce a subtle civic presence while remaining in dialogue with the surrounding buildings.
Layered threshold
Organised around layered thresholds, the arched volumes generate sheltered balconies and planted edges that soften the massing. The result is a residential building that balances density with a more generous and domestic character.
